New Years Resolutions

Sweater: H&M (similar Here)  | Shirt: Banana Republic (similar Here)  | Tie: Haines & Bonner of London (similar Here & Here)  | Pant: Banana Republic

It was quite a 2013 and I have high hopes for 2014. Now is the time to reassess, reevaluate and renew our resolve to be better professionals, friends & family. Here is my top resolution for the new year.

Don't Let Work Stress Me Out- Work is stressful, whether it's working 60+ hours a week, working on the weekends, eating lunch at my desk, or meeting that looming deadline. Remembering that there is more to my life than work (although sometimes it doesn't seem like it). I think this big picture resolution is all encompassing. This includes keeping my mental, physical and emotional health in check. I need to keep negative attitudes at bay and retain sharp communication skills.

What are your resolutions for the new year?

The winner of the Cut It Out giveaway will be notified via email directly from Cut It Out. Thank you to all those who participated.

Happy New Year! Giveaway Reminder!

Shirt: old (similar Here)  | Sweater: H&M (seen Here)  | Tie: Tommy Hilfiger (similar Here & Here)  | Pant:  JCrew  | Shoes: Madden   | Wayfarer Sunglasses: ASOS

Once Christmas and New Years have passed I find myself desperately wishing it was summer. The anticipation and vacation for the holidays are over and it's back to the daily grind. I start to hanker for a good trip somewhere warm and exotic. Last year's trip was Grand Cayman which was amazing and I highly recommend this tropical getaway. The water was crystal clear turquoise, fed stingrays up close and personal, and snorkeled until my skin was good and pruney. I need to plan a great getaway for the summer of 2014. Maybe a European excursion? Does anyone have any recommendations?

If you haven't entered the giveaway yet, you can do that HERE.  Your odds are looking good!!

CUT IT OUT vinyl wall sticker **GIVEAWAY**

After a short holiday hiatus from blogging I am back to bring you a GIVEAWAY! I have partnered with CUT IT OUT to bring you this product giveaway. Is your home as bare as mine? I have nothing on the walls and there is not enough time in my day to figure out how to personalize my place. Below I have shown you how I used my vinyl wall sticker to make my home look infinitely better and it was the simplest change.

This is a picture of my entryway. There is a small table for mail and a hook for keys. This is basically all I have to welcome myself and guests when they enter my home. It is very boring and bland. There is nothing interesting about this area.

As young professionals we need something easy easy easy to decorate our homes! Easy to put up, stylish and easy to keep clean. There is nothing more perfect than these vinyl wall stickers. Have you ever seen or used them? I applied mine in less than 5 minutes and it adds a great welcome for all my guests. I feel like it makes a big difference to my small entry and leaves no damage to my wall.

CUT IT OUT is composed of a team of budding graphic designer based out of the UK. They ship WORLDWIDE with fast delivery times. The vinyl wall stickers come in a wide range of colors and designs. The stickers are easy to apply and look as though they are painted directly on the wall. This video shows you how easy it is to apply your vinyl wall sticker.

Do you want to win a FREE vinyl wall sticker? Enter by using the rafflecopter below. If you haven't used rafflecopter before, just click on each entry option, follow the instructions for entry and indicate that you have completed the requirements. Giveaway will end Monday January 6, 2014 at 12 am. Good luck!

4 Ways to Avoid Unwanted Weight Around The Holidays

Shirt: Geoffrey Beene   | Tie: (Similar Here and Here) | Sweater: Claiborne (similar Here, Here & Here)  | Pant: Banana Republic

With holiday parties in full swing it's easy to get caught up in the gluttony of it all. Make sure you don't put on the extra pounds with these 4 helpful tips. I also just so happened to win Best Dressed award this year at the Christmas party.

#1. Order On The Side- This includes salad dressing, condiments, butter, sauce, gravy, whipped cream. Basically anything that is jam packed with calories should be ordered on the side. This will allow you to manage your serving size and calorie intake.

#2. Drink Water Before Any Meal- Not only will this keep your appetite suppressed, but it will ensure you don't over indulge on all of those company paid meals. There is nothing more inappropriate than someone who cannot stop from gorging on that prime rib a young professional normally cannot afford to buy themselves.

#3. Remember Your Manners- Don't get sloppy just because you are out of the workplace. You are still at a work function and professional etiquette applies. This includes dining etiquette, minimizing the drinks and keeping conversations to appropriate subjects. When you keep this etiquette you end up eating slower and in turn will eat less calories in a night. Do NOT speak with food in your mouth.

#4. Keep up your exercise routine- If you already have an exercise routine, stick to it! We tend to lax around this time of year. (And then of course the beginning of the year brings New Years Resolutions of health and exercise.) Try to be realistic. If you didn't exercise one day, don't beat yourself up, just make sure to keep your schedule the next day.  Even a few push ups or sit ups right before bed counts.
