It's the day before Thanksgiving and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except for my belly... because it's hungry! I know, wrong holiday but are we all ready for Thanksgiving or what? I'm excited to have time with family and eat until I cannot breathe.

Today's outfit post is a mix of all pieces you have already seen in previous posts, but mixed to perfection. I really like how the tie incorporates both colors from the cardigan and shirt. This really ties (pun not intended) the whole outfit together and is an easy solution to keeping your outfits coordinated. You can do this with any piece of your outfit whether it is the tie, cardigan, shirt or accessories. For example, if your sweater is red and grey then you can wear a striped grey and white shirt with a red tie. Don't be afraid to mix things up. This will stretch your wardrobe and keep dollars in your bank account.

To Black Friday or Not to Black Friday?

I like to mix up the pieces in my wardrobe. I was last seen wearing this cardigan in this post. I can't imagine wearing something only a handful of times. As a young professional I need to think about buying pieces that can be worn multiple times and in multiple situations. I buy a tie or shirt having a good idea of what is already in my closet and if I can easily incorporate it into my wardrobe. This is why I look for pieces I don't already own or an item with a similar color palette but a different print or pattern. I can't afford to splurge on every single piece of clothing so I look for online or in store promotions, deals and sales. Has anyone ever shopped Black Friday and found any good deals on menswear? I generally try to avoid these sales, but I do shop the after Christmas sales for killer steals. There are certainly other items on which you should splurge and others where you should save (I will have this list in a later post).

So glad it's Friday! I hope you have a good evening and weekend. I recently picked up this Tartan (aka Plaid) Tommy Hilfiger tie and I must say it is my new favorite. The dark green and blue pattern is a fun addition and will be an easy piece to incorporate into many outfit combinations. I really like the plaid as a holiday tie without being a gimmicky plaid in red or green. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and are able to recharge for next week.

The daylight is getting shorter, but as the holidays approach the workday feels longer. Is this true for anyone else? Because of the long days, I feel the need to switch things up by pairing my black sweater with a purple & grey striped tie and striped dress shirt. I wore these charcoal H&M pants with black. But as shown in the chart below, you can pair grey with brown as well. If you ever have a hard time determining which shoe color to wear, refer to this chart and all your color coordinating questions will be resolved.

I have a good amount of crisp slim-fit white shirts hanging in my closet. These are perfect for layering under patterned or solid colored sweaters while offering endless combinations with all ties. I cannot think of a tie color that doesn't look great with a clean white shirt. There are constant sales and offers on white shirts at department stores or, one of my personal favorites, TJ MAXX. Have you ever shopped there? A white shirt never goes out of style so I don't think there is a good reason to buy it at full price. You can find great inexpensive shirts at this retailer. They may be last seasons shirt, but when it comes to white shirt, go for the cheaper version. No one, but you,` will ever know and your outfit will always look clean and crisp.

Imagine All The Purple

It's been a busy week and I am so happy we are nearing the end. Let get real though, what week isn't really busy? As a young professional the work week is always jam packed with deadlines, reports and constantly proving ourselves as valuable employees. It's an exhausting task, but in the end I'm hoping all the hard work and long hours are worth it. I'm looking for the financial freedom that will allow me to not worry about debt, taking financial risk, unexpected car or home repairs and let me travel the world without penny pinching! Can i get an AMEN?!

Today's outfit is a calming light violet and grey combination. Purple has connotations of royalty and richness, something I am working toward... the richness anyway. Keep working hard and dressing to impress.

A Day Of Navy

The weekend was a much needed rest. But now it's back to the daily grind. I don't know about you, but I would like to punch Mondays in the face. Can we just skip to Wednesdays because I'm not partial to Tuesdays either. WHO'S WITH ME?

Now that we know skipping Monday isn't possible, we are going to focus on something a little different. A Navy sweater is one of the most important staples in any young professional's closet. The reason behind picking the navy sweater as an essential closet must-have is because navy can be paired with brown, grey, black, khaki and any color in between. It's varied combos keep on giving for a new daily look that will always appear polished and professional. Hope your Monday is productive!

Tommy Does A Man Good

My most recent purchase was this Tommy Hilfiger Shirt that I got on sale and it was the only one left. It is in my exact size and so I HAD to get it. There is something about finding a great deal and having it be perfectly sized for me. I already had this Tommy Hilfiger navy and white striped tie that paired perfectly with my new collared blue and violet gingham shirt. Tommy Hilfiger does a man good. Mixing new pieces with those already in the closet is a young professionals must do. On a limited budget you can't afford to go and buy a brand new daily outfit.

Happy Monday. I'm glad there is only one Monday during the week. Today's post is a subtle blend of a comfortable elbow patch sweater and navy anchor print tie. I really like the easygoing vibe I feel when wearing this outfit. Working 10-12 hour days mean all the pieces in my wardrobe need to be interesting and easy to wear. I look for some aspect that's interesting in every article of clothing I buy.

Can you believe it's November already? I swear it feels like it was just the Fourth of July. In honor of the months end I have compiled my favorite Young Professional looks for the month of October. As you can tell the H&M striped sweater and Oatmeal V-neck sweater were favorites this month. You can never have enough good sweaters. Now that the holidays are upon us and nearly every leaf has changed from vibrant green to light yellow, I am feeling the urge to pull out my warmest winter coats, scarves and gloves. The seasons are changing quickly which means a larger variety of wardrobe options are coming your way. I am excited for the coming months festivities and work related parties and, lets not forget, much needed vacations. Also a reminder to move your clocks back 1 hour on Sunday, although we are spoiled and many of our digital devices will make the change for us. I'll take another hour of sleep.
