Classic Clubmaster

Sweater: H&M  | Pants: JCrew (from my Current Cravings post) | Tie: Banana Republic  | Shirt: Geoffrey Beene  | Shoes: Madden (Seen Here)  | Sunglasses: ASOS

The Classic Clubmaster sunglasses are a staple accessory for a Young Professional. They have a timeless feel to them as well as flatter any face shape. These sunglasses are inexpensive, yet give you a perfect statement piece. You may think the sunglasses you wear will not be seen by your coworkers or superiors. However, coming and going from the office is also an important start and end to your day. Why not begin and finish it in style? Walking out of your office with an associate or supervisor and putting on sunglasses in the evening sun shows that you are a forward thinker and are an asset to any prosperous company. Perpetually dress for success and people will take notice of your motivation to succeed.

Banana Republic is offering 40% off your online purchase with code BRNIGHT. This offer ends tonight 9/30.

A Fresh Taste of Mint

Shirt: Pierre Cardin (last seen Here)  | Tie: IZOD (similar Here) | Pants: Banana Republic  | Sweater: H&M (similar JCrew style Here)  | Belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction (last seen Here)

Elbow patches may make you think of your grandfather in the very best of ways. Either your grandfather or your university professor. Shown by both examples, only those with great intelligence can pull of this scholastic detail. The elbow patch adds some interest to a otherwise plain sweater making it a necessary addition to any Young Professionals closet. The slight hint of mint in the tie makes this outfit catch your attention in a good way. Mint is a very calming color and will make people around you feel at ease. Who doesn't want a co-worker who makes the work environment a more comfortable place to be all day? Sign me up to sit next to them. This is a good look when you have a quarterly meeting with your boss to discuss your performance and you need to remind them of why they hired you.

Argyle

Shirt: Geoffrey Beene  | Tie: Calvin Klein  | Sweater: David & Squire (similar Here)  | Pants: H&M (Last seen Here) | Shoes: Giorgio Brutini  | Belt: Calvin Klein

Argyle is a great way to add interest to your wardrobe. This sophisticated print is preppy and adding a patterned shirt makes it a bit more trendy. I decided to pull out the purple by adding a dark purple tie. Pairing this with black pants making the sweater the focus of a great outfit. I recently got these great Giorgio Brutini oxford dress shoes. They have a great cap toe, perfect fit and they are affordable! Having a comfortable and attractive shoe is important for those long days in the office.

Blue and Yellow

Shirt: old (similar Here)  | Tie: Haines & Bonner (similar Here)  | Belt: Seen Here  | Pants: Banana Republic

A great go-to color combination is yellow and blue. This combination is always a good choice for everyday wear. Having multiple ties you can wear with a blue shirt can make your wardrobe go farther. It's easy to get caught up in the idea of having one tie per shirt, however that is hard to maintain and very expensive. Having a great colored shirt and multiple ties to go with it makes your closet much more sustainable. What is your go-to color combination?

Current Cravings

Shirt  |  Tie  |  Bag  |  Pant  |  Shoes

My current cravings are all from JCrew. Now that the weather is cooling down these shoes are going to be making a comfortable home in my wardrobe rotation. A brown boot is a great staple in any closet. JCrew is also a great place to shop because they are constantly having good sales. Currently they are offering 25% off in-stores and online with code SHOPFALL as well as free shipping on purchases over $100. They also have a less expensive version of the designer clothing at JCrew Factory which is a great alternative for young professionals who are beginning their careers and need the quality without breaking the bank.

Sweater Weather

Shirt: Pierre Cardin (old similar Here)  | Pants: Banana Republic  | Sweater: Banana Republic  | Tie: Burma Bibas (similar Here)  | Glasses: Zenni Optical  | Shoes: old similar Here  | Belt: Last Seen Here

Now that Fall is upon us, it's time to dust off our sweaters, cardigans and jackets. There is no reason to throw on a giant snow coat when there are other attractive alternatives to staying warm. This sweater is the perfect piece when you want to stay warm during the fall temperatures and still look fashionable. The warm red color is a good alternative to a power tie, lets call it your power sweater. This sweater comes in many different colors. My next purchase will be the Navy, Mustard and Charcoal Heather colors. You can never have too many good v-neck sweaters.

Casual Friday

Shirt: Paper Denim & Cloth (old Similar Here & Here)  | Jeans: Levi 511 Slim in Rinsed Papaya  | Cardigan: Merona (old Similar Here)  | Shoes: Vans

Casual Friday is a fun time to switch things up. A charcoal grey cardigan is a great way to keep yourself warm in the brisk morning and evening air, but can be taken off when you get into the office. To make this outfit more dressed up tuck in the shirt, add a belt and oxford dress shoes.

The Color of Money

Tie: Countess Mara (Old Similar Here and Here)  |  Pants: Banana Republic  | Shirt: Banana Republic (Old Similar Here)  | Shoes: Last seen Here  | Belt: Calvin Klein on Sale!

The color green is associated with growth, money, wealth, prestige and vitality. What a great way to say to your employer or potential employer that you are the answer to their business growing prayers. The light green print in this shirt needed to be balanced out with a bolder dark green and grey striped tie. This tie has been the recipient of many compliments and admirers making it a classic staple to any wardrobe. And it's in it for the long haul.

Gingham Style

Tie: Tommy Hilfiger  | Shoes: Gordon Rush  |  Shirt: Metropolitan View (Similar Here)  | Pants: H&M  | Belt: old (seen Here)

I've been on a blue kick lately. All outfits have incorporated this color for the last few weeks and today was no exception. I must be on-trend since Pantone just named Dazzling Blue as their 2014 color of the year. Gingham is a very fashionable pattern right now and I am a big fan of patterned ties. (Tip: Remember you tie is supposed to skim the top of your trousers.) These pants are from H&M, which has a lot of pieces that are trendy and affordable. I regularly check H&M when I want to pick up something I know will keep outfits fashionably current.

Kelly Green

Pants: Banana Republic |  Shirt: Banana Republic (similar here) |  Tie: Nautica (similar here) | Belt: Seen Here

This Kelly Green and Navy striped tie screams preppy. You can never go wrong with classic blue and green. Pairing this combo with a good pair of grey chino pants dress the look down slightly.

Shirt & Tie

Pants | Banana Republic   Belt | Kenneth Cole Reaction   Shirt & Tie | Perry Ellis (Similar here & here on sale!)   Shoes | Madden on sale!

When deciding what shirt and tie to wear, a fail-safe method is to select a similar color story. (i.e. purple paired with purple) Generally, your tie should be darker than your shirt. Mixing patterns makes your outfit more trendy, but be careful not to go overboard. Choose patterns and prints that are similar in size.
