There are many reasons to take risks in the professional world. A high return on investment is the main reward for taking these risks. Your wardrobe is the exact same. Don't be afraid to pair stripes with a printed tie. Just make sure the print is small enough so that it doesn't look too busy. Also stick with the same color story. The same color combo will give you a more polished look. If you decide to go with complimentary colors, then you will generally have a louder statement or you may end up looking like you are wearing the colors of your favorite college sports team. (Tip: If you aren't comfortable mixing stripes with a print then you can always wear a solid color tie with a striped shirt or vice versa. However, make certain you pick up an existing color from your shirt or tie.)
